This is not the first time that a Call of Duty game has had some issues with a skin not working as intended. When Samantha Maxis was first added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, she was entirely invisible for certain players, with Treyarch needing to work quickly to patch the bug since it was impacting both Zombies and multiplayer. Call of Duty: Warzone’s infamous Roze skin saw users blending into dark environments and shadowy corners of buildings with ease, and while it was eventually nerfed, the outfit had a reign of terror that lasted months.

As for Call of Duty: Vanguard, the broken skin that players recently stumbled upon has an invisibility issue that is somewhere in between Roze and Maxis when it comes to its severity. Available exclusively for the Operator Constanze, the cosmetic makes her body disappear if she is at a certain distance. Obviously, this is extremely unfair, especially in large maps like Desert Siege or Berlin where players are usually far away from the enemies they are shooting at. According to Twitter user @Indivant, Constanze disappears completely if she is at a “certain angle or range.”

The player then shows footage of the Call of Duty: Vanguard map Tuscan, with their friend equipping the broken Constanze skin. While she is easily visible at first, she becomes impossible to see once @Indivant backs up a bit. The Twitter user then tells their friend to move to a new position, and once again, their character model’s body become fully invisible. With the video evidence out there, hopefully Sledgehammer Games becomes aware of the issue quickly.

The worrying thing about the Constanze skin is that it will only become more common over time, as it is part of the Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 Battle Pass. Dubbed Urbane, it is unlocked at Tier 50. While the Season only just begun, dedicated players will be hitting this tier sooner rather than later, meaning that more and more people will be wearing the Constanze skin. That number will also grow larger since many will surely learn about the invisibility bug, and some players will be happy to have an unfair advantage.

It remains to be seen if the same issues are present if the skin is worn in Call of Duty: Warzone’s Caldera map. For now, though, Call of Duty: Vanguard players should make sure to report the issue to Sledgehammer.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
