Arians, 66, retired following the 2017 season after five years in Arizona Cardinals and an earlier stint with the Indianapolis Colts.

He has previously said the only coaching job he would return for would be with the Cleveland Browns.

However, having spent much of his time in the CBS broadcast booth, the two-time NFL coach of the year appears to be itching to get back on to the field.

Arians has a winning percentage of 61.4 in his career as a head coach. He led the Cardinals to the playoffs in back-to-back years in 2014 and 2015, reaching the NFC Championship game in the latter season, missing out on the Super Bowl as they lost to the Carolina Panthers.

The downfield passing attack he employs could benefit Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston, who will be entering his fifth season in the league on the back of four largely unconvincing campaigns.
